The buffet style breakfast consists of local products or products grown on the hotel premises.
Beverages include fresh milk from the farm, herbal teas of the region, such as “diktamo”, “malotyra”, marjoram, sage, spearmint, “ladano” and “melisohorto”. There are also various types of tea and coffees. Guests will also find cheeses such as gruyere, feta, “tyrozouli” (local cheese made on the premises), and yoghurt. Seasonal fruits and juices are offered. Breads and bakery items are prepared at the Enagron eco village, as well as pies of Sfakia with “ksynomyzithra” cheese, “loukoumades” (honey dumplings), “tiganites” (pancakes with honey), barley “dakos” (rusks with tomato, olive oil and “myzithra” cheese), fresh bread baked in the wood burning oven and various rusks. There is also a variety of olives, dried figs, raisins and sultanas, walnuts, pure virgin olive oil, thyme honey, and homemade jams. Last but not least, the eggs are cooked in various ways (fried in olive oil or omelet with fresh tomatoes.)

The buffet style breakfast at the Elia includes fresh local products such as “myzithra” cheese, “dakos” rusks, homemade cakes, jams and pies, as well as a selection of fresh fruits from the garden and from local farms and groves. Guests can enjoy their breakfast either at the stunning veranda overlooking the sea view or in the verdant gardens. Breakfast is available anytime upon the guests’ request.

The large buffet dedicates a special place for its Greek breakfast section, which offers guests traditional Cretan delicacies and other Greek flavors prepared with homegrown products from the garden. The Greek buffet is a great hit with guests, who show their preference for delicacies like the traditional halva from Elounda, “tiganites” (pancakes), “kalitsounia”, “kefalotyri” cheese, eggs with “myzithra” cheese, cream-filled “bougatsa”, walnut pie, “kserotigana” (fritters), local thyme honey and the famous “rakomelo” drink.

At the Elounda Mare the breakfast buffet features a Cretan corner, with traditional “dakos” rusk, “myzithropitakia” (small pies with myzithra cheese) and “kaltsounia lychnarakia”, as well as olives, tomatoes and cheeses, rusks and barley buns. There are also cold cuts, cheeses, salted and smoked fish, pickles and cheese from the rest of Greece. A bakery section offers bread and bakery products, biscuits and cookies. The fruits and juices occupy another section, and the same applies to the dairy produce section, which features yoghurts of Lasithi, traditional “ryzogalo” (rice pudding) and fresh Greek milk.

Guests may start their Greek breakfast with a cup of Greek coffee or herbal beverage, such as sage, “diktamo”, “malotyra”, chamomile or tisane. There is a selection of fresh breads and rusks, cookies and biscuits. Extra virgin olive oil and olives, thyme honey, jams, dried fruits and nuts are among the basic Cretan staples. Dairies include fresh sheep’s yoghurt, plain or with honey and walnuts, and a wide range of Cretan cheeses such as gruyere, “kefalotyri”, feta, “anthotyros”, “myzithra”, “ksigalo” and “ksynomyzithra”. The cold cuts selection features the Cretan smoked “apaki” pork and village style sausages. Fresh fruits and fruit salads are also available to guests. Hot specialties include “kalitsounia” with “myzithra” cheese and honey, cream-filled “bougatsa”, cheese pie, pie with “myzithra”, “sfouggato” omelet with tomato and zucchinis, and fried eggs with “apaki”. For dessert, there is “kserotigana”, (fritters) tahini halva, “lychnarakia”, various spoon sweets and “loukoumades” (honey dumplings).

The Coriva serves a wide selection of traditional delicacies at breakfast, such as handmade and village style bread, bakery products like biscuits, “tsoureki” (sweet bread), “anevata” of Sitia, “amygdalota” (almond shortbreads), “stafidota kserotigana” (with raisins), “patoudia”, “lychnarakia” and “kaltsouni” (with sweet cheese). Guests may try fresh fruits and vegetables, cheeses (gruyere, “tyrozouli”, “ksygalo” of Sitia) and other dairy products (yoghurt, traditional yoghurt and butter). Eggs are cooked in various ways (boiled, fried, omelet or “kagianas” with cheese and “apaki” (smoked pork). Highly recommended are the handmade pies (cheese pie, pie with wild greens, pie with “myzithra” cheese), the pure honey and the handmade “pasteli” (honey and sesame bar). There is also a selection of handmade jams, herbal beverages such as “malotira” and verbena with rose, or traditional Greek coffee.

At breakfast guests may find selected products of Crete in a rich Cretan buffet with references to some other dishes from other parts of Greece, popular in Crete. The buffets are arranged by product categories, such as bakery products and Cretan bread, fruits, jams, cold cuts and cheeses, cereals, salads, omelettes, hot dishes, pies, “loukoumades” (honey dumplings) prepared on the spot, desserts from Crete and the rest of Greece etc. Cretan dairy products such as sheep’s yoghurt, “oksygala”, gruyere, “ksynomizithra” cheese stand out. Greek cereals include oat, cookies and biscuits crumbs with cinnamon, oil and honey pumpkin seeds, sesame, hazelnuts, walnuts, pistachios from Aegina and many others.

Breakfast at the Cretan Malia Park is inspired by the local cuisine of Crete and features many traditional recipes, prepared with Cretan products. There is gruyere from Crete, “myzithra” cheese, “”tsakistes”” olives, yoghurt with Cretan honey, “dakos” rusks, buns made with oil, “lychnarakia” and “myzithropites” (pies filled with myzithra cheese). Other dishes include “chortopites” (pies with greens), “kserotigana” (fritters with honey), “loukoumades” (honey dumplings and “tiganites” (pancakes). There is also “sfouggato” (omelet with zucchini), “strapatsada” (scrambled eggs with tomato) and “ryzogalo” (rice pudding). Beverages include a variety of herbal teas from Crete.

Breakfast at the Creta Royal includes a selection of local delicacies and products that can be found in the Cretan Corner of the main restaurant. There is fresh bread baked on the premises and rusks with grated organic tomato and extra virgin olive oil. The local handmade jams and spoon sweets add a special touch to the buffet. Dairies include local, traditional cheeses such as gruyere, “tyromalama”, fresh “anthotyro”, “ksinomyzithra” as well as sheep’s yoghurt.

Guests will also find a selection of cold cuts from local producers such as smoked “apaki” pork. A selection of olives is also available (green olives from Chalkidiki, Kalamata type olives and “throubes” olives.
