The Greek breakfast buffet of the Pindos offers a variety of traditional dishes with fresh local ingredients. There is a selection of fresh breads, handmade cookies, fresh fruits, orange juice, organic cheese, feta cheese from Grevena, “anevato” (the local spread cheese of Grevena), traditional yoghurt and “kasseri” cheese from Grevena. There are also eggs and cold cuts, local organic honey, olives, “trahanas” (pebble-size pasta soup). Traditional pies are on offer (with cheese, greens, nettles, zucchini and other fresh ingredients.) Sweet treats include milk pie, cake, apple pie, as well as the local traditional jams.

The Greek traditional breakfast at the Patriko guesthouse includes various breads from a traditional village bakery, yoghurt from Trikala and fresh eggs from the region. The omelet is highly recommended. Guests will also find pies with cheese and spinach baked in a traditional oven, jams, butter and honey, “kasseri” cheese, as well as cold cuts from Florina. The breakfast buffet is complete with fresh milk and seasonal fruits from Pella, such as apples and oranges.

At the breakfast buffet of the Perinthos hotel, guests may find a wide selection of traditional Greek products such as yoghurt, orange juice, milk, tea and any type of coffee upon request. There is also “kasseri” cheese, cold cuts and omelet with cucumber, olives and feta. Guests may also try the handmade jam, honey, traditional “trahanas” pasta, homemade cake, hot bread rolls and toasts. The breakfast buffet is complete with cream-filled “bougatsa” pastry and pies such as cheese or spinach pie.

The Panorama hotel offers a wide selection of Greek traditional dishes on its breakfast buffet. There are many types of fresh bread, sesame “koulouri” bun, cakes and cookies. Eggs are cooked in various styles, paired with cold cuts and dairy products such as feta and “manouri” cheese, strained yoghurt, butter and fresh milk. Guests may also taste Macedonian (tahini) halva, olives, olive oil, tomatoes, mushrooms and smoked salmon. Handmade pies are prepared every day, as well as hot “trahanas” soup (with traditional pebble-sized pasta) and homemade traditional sweets such as walnut pie and “revani” (semolina cake with syrup), which are made with fresh ingredients only. There are also fresh fruits, honey, jam, dried fruits and fresh juices, as well as Greek coffee.

The breakfast at Pantelidis hotel serves a wide selection of traditional Greek dishes. Bread is served with local honey, feta cheese from Klisoura and local yoghurt. There is a variety of homemade jams with fruits of the region such as Velvedou peaches, apples from Milochori and plums from the hotel’s orchard. Seasonal vegetables and fruits are served daily. Try the eggs “kagianas”-style with tomato and feta cheese or the hot soups during the winter, or the “piroshki”, a delicacy from Pontos with dough filled with potato or cheese. For dessert there is bougatsa” (custard pie with phyllo), fruit cake, apple pie with apples from Milochori, “ryzogalo” (rice pudding), semolina pudding (halva) with dried nuts, milk pie, “loukoumia giaglidika” with cinnamon, sugar and raisins, and “laggites” from Thrace, with honey or sugar and cinnamon.

On cold, winter days, guests may enjoy their breakfast by the fireplace, which is freshly prepared the moment they sit down at the restaurant of Palea Poli, which is located on the ground floor of the guesthouse. There is a choice of handmade delicious jams, made with fresh fruits, such as strawberries, apples, oranges and plums, a rich “ryzogalo” (rice pudding), homemade pies, fluffy apple pie, freshly squeezed juices and steaming coffee. Guests will also try hot bread, traditional “trahanas” (handmade pasta), local cheeses and cold cuts, sweet crepes and fresh eggs cooked to order. On sunny days and summer mornings guests can enjoy their breakfast in the shade of the courtyard, which is filled with flowers.

Breakfast is served in front of the restaurant fireplace, with stunning views of the lake and the mountain. The breads are freshly baked at the local bakery and the eggs are locally produced. There are also cold cuts and cheeses from the region of Serres such as feta, “manouri”, “anthotyro” and white cheese made with buffalo milk. The homemade yoghurt from buffalo milk is rich in proteins. Guests will enjoy sour cherry juice or lemon with honey and “moshomoloha” (apple geranium). Some traditional dishes are “lalaggites” with cheese and “tiganites” (pancakes) with honey or jams. Occasionally, guests are treated to “loukoumades” (honey dumplings). There are also pies with wild greens (nettles, “lapata”, spinach and fennel) or pies with cheese. The handmade bougatsa pie of Serres is baked on the premises. There are also fresh fruits and compotes, boiled and grilled vegetables, local honey and jams as well as handmade “pasteli” bar with honey and tahini. A sweet soup with wheat (“kolyvosmos”) will provide guests with all the energy they need. Beverages include mountain tea, and herbal teas like “trivoli, sage and “flamouri” tea.

The Greek breakfast buffet at the Olympia is based on fresh products, starting with bread varieties and traditional sesame “koulouri” bun. There is also a selection of fresh fruits and orange juice, fresh homemade cake, traditional handmade “bougatsa” with cream or cheese, honey and homemade jams. Guests may choose among feta cheese, a selection of local cold cuts and sausages, strained yoghurt and full milk. There are also eggs (boiled or omelet), Kalamata olives and fresh local tomatoes. Beverages include tea from organic herbs of Olympus, Greek coffee and spoon sweets.

The Olympic Star Hotel offers a wide selection of traditional dishes. For starters, there is coffee, chocolate, teas, juices, and milk. Guests will also find cookies, cakes, bread, Thessaloniki sesame bun (koulouri) and “tsoureki” (sweet bread). Honey, tahini, jams, compotes and spoon sweets are also standard offerings. The buffet also has pickles, green salad and Greek salad, “feta” cheese and yoghurt, peppers from Florina, various kinds of olives, olive paste, cold cuts, cheeses and sausages. Guests may also try the boiled and fried eggs, the omelet or the traditional “strapatsada” (scrambled eggs and tomato) as well as freshly baked pies: milk pie, cheese pie or spinach pie. Sweet treats include “pasteli” (honey and nuts bar), semolina pudding (halva), “revani” (syrupy semolina cake), dried fruits, “loukoumi” (Turkish delight), “ryzogalo” (rice pudding) and “loukoumades” (honey dumplings).

As for cheeses there is feta, “myzithra”, “anthotyro”, white cheese, “kasseri”, “katiki” from Domokos, yoghurt, “ariani” (milk product with yoghurt yeast), fresh milk and fresh butter. Sweets include semolina pudding (halva), handmade “tsoureki” (sweet bread), “loukoumades” (honey dumplings) and “pasteli” (sesame and honey bar). Drinks include various juices and beverages, coffees, herbal teas and infusions.

The Greek breakfast at the Olympus hotel offers certain basic staples on a daily basis (eggs, omelettes, sausages, salami, “kasseri” cheese, yoghurt, salads, fresh and dried fruits, cereals) and adds new dishes periodically. The vegetables are produced by the hotel, the fruits are from local producers, the compotes, spoon sweets and jams are handmade on the premises. Guests wake up to the smell of freshly baked cake, the “mother in law’s pie” and other dough products (traditional “lalaggites” and honey dumplings – “loukoumades”). Handmade “trahanas” pasta is also served. For dessert there is fresh cream and semolina pudding (halva).

Breakfast at the Nymfes can either be enjoyed by the fireplace during the cold months, or under the shade in the courtyard, during the summer months. Breakfast here begins with a traditional pie of the day, with extra fresh local ingredients, which is always prepared and baked on the premises. Guests may taste fillings like “louvoudia” (wild greens from the forest), nettle, mushrooms, red peppers from Florina, leeks, minced meat, zucchinis and cheese. The fresh bread is served with locally produced butter and homemade jams (with strawberries, cherries, peaches and apricots from the region). The hotel kitchen also bakes various cakes and serves mini apple pies which are fried on the spot. The traditional rice pudding “ryzogalo” is also offered and guests can choose how they wish their eggs cooked. There is also a selection of cold cuts and cheese. Beverages consist of coffee and various herbal teas, made from organic herbs, handpicked in the forest.
