The 4 star hotel Makryammos Bungalows complex is amphitheatrically built within 30 acres in a breathtaking region of Thasos island, just 2km from town. It consists of a main building and scattered bungalows or sea front suites overlooking the Aegean Sea. Guests may swim in the sea and enjoy the white sand or take a dip in the swimming pool and sip cocktails in one of the four bars. There is also a restaurant, tennis, beach volley and basketball courts.
The buffet breakfast features a wide variety of Greek traditional dishes and ingredients. To start off, there is a selection of coffees, milk, tea and juices. There is also a wide assortment of breads, sesame ring bun (koulouri), serials and rusks. Spreads include honey from Thasos, homemade jams and butter. Hot dishes comprise of eggs cooked in many ways, including a traditional “strapatsada” (scrambled eggs with tomato), various traditional pies and potato dishes. Cold dishes include handmade yoghurt, olives, feta and other cheeses, cold cuts, tomatoes, various compotes, fresh and dried fruits. The pastry corner offers traditional “tsoureki” (sweet egg bread), “bougatsa” with cream filling, cakes, “ryzogalo” (rice pudding), dairy creams, “pasta flora” jam tarts, “galatopita” (milk pie) and yoghurt pie.
