The Elounda Mare is situated on the western coast of the bay of Mirabello, a beautiful area that is rightly considered to be one of the top travel destinations in the Mediterranean. With its eclectic character and serenity it is chosen by those who seek rejuvenation far from the crowds, with fine cuisine and immaculate service. Despite the fact that it is a relatively small hotel, with just 90 rooms, most of them suites, there are many excellent restaurants with gourmet cuisine.
At the Elounda Mare the breakfast buffet features a Cretan corner, with traditional “dakos” rusk, “myzithropitakia” (small pies with myzithra cheese) and “kaltsounia lychnarakia”, as well as olives, tomatoes and cheeses, rusks and barley buns. There are also cold cuts, cheeses, salted and smoked fish, pickles and cheese from the rest of Greece. A bakery section offers bread and bakery products, biscuits and cookies. The fruits and juices occupy another section, and the same applies to the dairy produce section, which features yoghurts of Lasithi, traditional “ryzogalo” (rice pudding) and fresh Greek milk.
