Breakfast at the Cretan Malia Park is inspired by the local cuisine of Crete and features many traditional recipes, prepared with Cretan products. There is gruyere from Crete, “myzithra” cheese, “”tsakistes”” olives, yoghurt with Cretan honey, “dakos” rusks, buns made with oil, “lychnarakia” and “myzithropites” (pies filled with myzithra cheese). Other dishes include “chortopites” (pies with greens), “kserotigana” (fritters with honey), “loukoumades” (honey dumplings and “tiganites” (pancakes). There is also “sfouggato” (omelet with zucchini), “strapatsada” (scrambled eggs with tomato) and “ryzogalo” (rice pudding). Beverages include a variety of herbal teas from Crete.
