The Blue Palace, a Luxury Collection Resort and Spa in the bay of Elounda, offers 251 elegant rooms with views to the crystal clear waters of the Aegean. The Greek breakfast buffet at the Blue Palace offers traditional beverages, such as “diktamo”, mint, sage, chamomile and linden. There is wheat and barley bread, all kinds of rusks, cookies and biscuits. Guests will find extra virgin olive oil, olives, thyme honey, jams, dried fruits and nuts.
Dairy produce includes “anthotyros”, gruyere, “kefalotyri”, “myzithra” “ksigalo” and “ksinomyzithra” cheeses, as well as yoghurt. Apart from cold cuts like “apaki” (salted pork), fresh fruits and salads are served -paired with traditional “dakos” rusk with tomato and cheese. Recommended specialty dishes are the following: “kalitsounia” (with myzithra cheese and honey), traditional pies like “bougatsa”, “tiganopita”, “chortopita”, “myzithropita” and “sarikopita”, omelet with various fillings and fried eggs with “apaki”. As for desserts, there are “kserotigana” (fritters with honey), “amygdalota” (almond paste sweets), “lychnarakia”, various spoon sweets and “loukoumades” (honey dumplings.)”
