The breakfast buffet at the Anemos Luxury Grand Resort offers dishes from the traditional Greek and Cretan cuisine. Guests can start with herbal beverages (“malotyra”, “sarantadendri”, chamomile, sage,) Greek coffee, teas and fresh fruit juices. Bread and bakery products include barley rusks, “dakos” rusks, wheat toast, rye toast, mini pie with raisins, mini apple pie, Cretan “lychnaraki”, various cakes, and cookies. Guests may try the “ryzogalo” (rice pudding), the yoghurt pie and the “loukoumades” (honey dumplings). The traditional strained yoghurt is served with various fresh and dried fruits, dried nuts and seeds, compotes, traditional jams, handmade spoon sweets, honey, halva and “moustalevria” (grape must pudding, seasonal). There is also “bougatsa” pie and Sfakia style pie. The cheese selection features feta, “manouri”, “kasseri”, gruyere and various yellow cheeses, cold cuts including smoked pork “apaki” and chicken “apaki”. Cooked vegetable dishes are served, together with cheese pies, pies with greens and “trahanas” (traditional pasta) soup. Guests may also find fresh fruits, fruit salads and vegetables, various olives, olive paste and Cretan olive oil. Eggs are cooked in various ways, like the “strapatsada” (scrambled with tomato).
