The Greek breakfast starts with village style bread from the local bakery. The cake of the day, plain or with fruits, is prepared on the premises. There are homemade jams and many of the fruits served are freshly picked from the owner’s farm. Vegetables also vary according to season: Tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce, cauliflowers, broccoli, zucchini, radishes. The white cheese is local, paired with other cheese varieties, yoghurt and butter. Also served are boiled eggs, cold cuts, pies with spinach, fennel or other greens, “tiganites” (pancakes) with grated cheese or honey, and local olives called “hamades”. Beverages include sage, chamomile, mountain tea, Greek coffee and filter coffee.
