The Alexander Beach Hotel & Spa serves daily a huge breakfast buffet with emphasis on purely local products. There is a wide variety of baked products (breads, cookies, croissants, cakes, mini savoury pies, sweet or savoury “bougatsa” phyllo pies. Dairy products feature cheeses like feta cheese from Evros, “anthotyro” from Larissa, yoghurt from Thessaloniki and many types of cold cuts. The local eggs are cooked in various ways, the most notable being “strapatsada” (scrambled eggs with tomato.) There are several Greek pasta dishes, olive oil from Maronia, Greek olives honey from Thasos, jams from Macedonia, a desserts buffet with traditional recipes, spoon sweets from Chios, dried nuts and fruits from North Evros, seasonal fruits from Crete and vegetables from the Peloponnese. The fresh juice is made from oranges of Arta and there is freshly roasted Greek coffee.
