The traditional Greek breakfast features delicacies from all over Greece. Fresh bread is paired with Greek honey, jams or tahini for extra energy. Recommended is the “tomatokagiana” (scrambled eggs with tomatoes and feta, sausage from Mykonos or bacon from Crete), the cheese pie or the cream-filled “bougatsa”. Various salads are served, such as pasta with carrot, lentils (with herbs and Florina peppers), black eyed beans with celery, “dakos” rusk with “ksinomyzithra” cheese from Crete or “trahana” (traditional pasta with feta and croutons). A light choice is the tasty yoghurt from Thessaloniki, served plain, with honey or handmade grape spoon sweet. Desserts include homemade semolina pudding (halva), orange pie and walnut pie. A sip of the local liqueur Tendoura of Patras, will complete the gastronomic feast!

The Greek breakfast at the Alex Beach hotel combines variety and Greek tradition, with emphasis on local products. There is a wide assortment of fresh bakery products, cakes, “tsoureki” (sweet bread), fresh fruit and vegetables, Greek jams, dried nuts and fruits, Greek traditional cheeses, cold cuts and fresh eggs are basic breakfast staples. Local spoon sweets as well as Greek honey are offered daily, paired with Greek strained yoghurt. Traditional recipes are “strapatsada” (scrambled eggs with tomato), green zucchini and sweet pumpkin pie, semolina pudding (halva), chocolate pie with virgin olive oil, pie with tahini, cream-filled “bougatsa” pie and the local “fanouropita” pie. The extra virgin olive oil is produced on the premises from the hotel’s olive trees. Traditional offerings such as homemade “melekounia” (with sesame, honey and cinnamon), biscuits and cookies are also offered.

The rich Greek breakfast buffet at Alexandra Beach consists of many kinds of breads, homemade cakes, sweets and biscuits, crepes, “loukoumades” (honey dumplings) and homemade jams. Fresh fruit, some of which from the hotel garden, such as apricots, pears, apples, peaches, cherries and pomegranates are also available. Fresh salads with vegetables from the garden, cucumbers, tomatoes, zucchinis, eggplants, peppers, lettuce and onions, are served daily. Hot dishes include omelettes with spinach, feta cheese, wild greens, “syglino” (smoked pork) and orange, handmade savoury pies with spinach, cheese and there are also sweet pies, such as apple pies and traditional cream-filled “bougatsa”. Apart from traditional spoon sweets, there are various Greek sweets in syrup and some international ones with a Greek twist like cheesecake with “anthotyro” soft cheese and tiramisu with “katiki” cheese from Domokos, Greek “mosaiko” with chocolate and handmade biscuits and homemade “ryzogalo” (rice pudding) orange zest.

The Greek breakfast at hotel Alexandra is rich and includes fresh bread, made on the premises, honey, jams and spoon sweets as well as orange cookies, cakes, juices, Greek coffee and herbal teas (chamomile and mint). There is yoghurt and butter, cold cuts and boiled eggs. The region of Epirus is famous for its cheeses and yoghurt. The buffet has feta, “kefalotyri”, “kefalograviera” and “galotyri” among other cheeses. There is also a variety of traditional pies such as”batsaria””, “zymaropita”, cheese pie, chicken pie, “makaronopita”, “tiganites” (pancakes) with cheese or honey and sugar, “eleopites”, “tyroriganata” (cheese and oregano) and “tyrontomatakia” (cheese and tomato).

The guesthouse serves Greek breakfast with local ingredients. The kitchen prepares daily its own bread and a variety of cakes. There is also fresh cow’s butter, fresh milk and fresh yoghurt, village honey, cheese from Epirus, local eggs, handmade jams from local fruits and “trahanas” (traditional pasta) soup for the cold days. There is a selection of pies with sweet and savoury ingredients (wild greens pie, cheese pie, flour pie, milk pie and the traditional “ryzogalo” (rice pudding) There are herbal teas from the mountains (tea, sage, mint, “melissochorto”).

The Greek breakfast buffet serves fresh local fruits, olives, sweet cheese pies (“kalitsounia”) and “loukoumades” (honey dumplings). Guests can taste a typical Cretan breakfast with white cheese, eggs, olives, tomato, cucumber and local cookies or opt for more European flavors such as jams, butter, cake, toast and omelet. Various coffees offered include Greek traditionally brewed coffee as well as a variety of teas.

The rich Greek breakfast at the Agapi Beach Resort offers dishes from the traditional Cretan cuisine prepared with local recipes. The “Cretan Corner” serves traditionally brewed Greek coffee, honey from pine and thyme, and herbal teas like sage and “erontas”. There is olive oil, honey with tahini, jams, yoghurt, gruyere, “tyrozouli” cheese, “anthogalo” (the cream of the milk), a variety of olives, olive paste, rusks, traditional bread and “tyropsomo” (bread with cheese). Guests should try pies with greens, eggs with tomato, “sfougato” (omelet with sweet and sour “chondro” pasta). Dried nuts and fruits, local sweets such as “kalitsounia”, “anevata, “”lychnarakia”, “bougatsa” (cream pie), “tiganites” (fritters), “stafidopita” (pie with raisins) and spoon sweets are the ideal selections to end a rich breakfast.

The Greek breakfast buffet at the Agionissi Resort offers a variety of breads, eggs cooked in six different ways, four types of cold cuts, three types of cheese (“kaseri” from Vermio, “telemes”, feta from Chalkidiki””) and two types of olives. There is also “trahana” (Greek traditional pasta), homemade cheese pies and spinach pies, yoghurt, fresh milk and butter from the American Agricultural School.
