The hotel’s breakfast buffet showcases Greek specialties and Zakynthian recipes prepared with passion and love using typical local products such as raisins and the Zakynthian olive oil. Hot dishes include eggs cooked in various ways (notably the traditional “strapatsada” with scrambled eggs and tomatoes) “striftaria” pies with “prentza” cheese and local olives. There is also a selection of jams, flower honey and spoon sweets, olives from local producers, a selection of cheeses that include gruyere from Zakynthos and “myzithra” from goat’s milk, fresh vegetables, the local specialities “fryssa” and “riganada”, yoghurt, compotes, juice and fruits of the season. The breakfast buffet serves Greek and local sweets prepared by the pastry chef of the hotel such as cream-filled “bougatsa” pie, semolina pudding “halva” with local raisins, “loukoumades” (honey dumplings) crunchy Zakynthian fitoura” and “rafiolia” sprinkled with flower honey and walnuts, “ryzogalo (rice pudding), “mandolato” (nougat) flavored cream, “sperna” with raisins and dried nuts.
