The Glarentza, a hotel offering authentic Greek hospitality, is situated on the main road near the port of Kyllini. Following its recent renovation, the hotel has been transformed into a modern, luxury unit. The verdant surrounding area is decorated with low stone walls, fountains and flower beds. The friendly hotel staff is always eager to help. The Greek breakfast includes traditional products and is served in the restaurant and the two large verandas overlooking the garden and the port.
The Greek breakfast includes many traditional dishes prepared with carefully selected ingredients.
Guests may start with hot bread, “kaimaki” (butter) with honey, omelettes, fruits and milk pie. The white and yellow cheeses have their own unique flavor, particularly aged ones, or the ones with spices and aromatic herbs, as well as the famous “ladotyri”. The delicious olives from the local olive groves are paired with tomato, cucumber, white cheese and “kritamo”, which is picked in the summer and used in salads with garlic, vinegar and oil. Spoon sweets such as sour cherry, bergamot, orange, quince and grape are paired with strained yoghurt, and homemade jams such as strawberry, fig, orange, peach, and plum. Among the sweets offered daily, guests should try the semolina pudding (halva) and “ryzogalo” (rice pudding). The pie selection includes traditional “boureki” (layers of phyllo with cheese or spinach), spinach pie, cheese pies and other kinds of pies with sweet pumpkin and feta. Drinks and beverages feature tea, coffee, hot milk, homemade lemonade from the hotel’s own lemons, or sour cherry juice.
