A short distance from the beautiful port of Preveza, in the old part of town, an old mansion has been transformed into an elegant guesthouse, the Captain’s House, which invites guests to relax in a friendly environment. The mansion was renovated in 2010 showing respect to tradition and the architectural heritage of the region and boasts tasteful rooms with all modern amenities.
The breakfast buffet at the Captain’s House offers a wide selection of dishes. There is a variety of breads and cakes, as well as cheese pies. There are also mini cream-filled “bougatsa” and apple pies, “tiganites”(pancakes with tsipouro and cheese from Epirus) and bread with raisins from Corinthia. Guests will also find jams, yoghurt, honey, wild cherry spoon sweet and walnuts. There are also cold cuts, “gruyere” and feta cheeses. Fresh vegetables, olives, fresh and dried fruits, are some of the delicacies offered daily. Eggs are cooked in many styles, like the traditional “strapatsada” (scrambled eggs with tomato). For dessert, there is orange pie, chocolate pie, milk pie, sweet treat with yoghurt, “ravani” (syrupy semolina cake) and walnut pie. There are many types of coffee, Greek coffee, chocolate, fresh orange juice, Greek milk, various types of teas, cold or hot.
