The Atlantis Beach Hotel is situated on the sandy beach of Rethymno, 1.5km from the old town and the Venetian port. The hotel consists of 90 autonomous rooms in seven two storey buildings surrounded by 4,000 sq. m. gardens. The rooms are modern and luxurious providing guests with total comfort during their stay.
The breakfast buffet includes local products and showcases traditional recipes. There are vegetables from the hotel vegetable garden, bread products (various types of bread, rusks, “dakos”, bread with cheese) baked at the hotel, based on a traditional Cretan recipe and paired with local jams and homemade spoon sweets. The dairy products include cheeses such as “myzithra”, feta and gruyere, as well as yoghurt, which is paired with Cretan honey. Guests will taste various kinds of local olives, virgin olive oil and a wide variety of cold cuts. There is also a fresh or dried fruit selection. Specialty dishes include various omelettes, “strapatsada” (scrambled eggs with tomato and feta, “Sfouggato” (omelet with zucchini), various pies with traditional Cretan phyllo dough (cheese pies, wild greens pies, spinach pies, leeks pies, pies with “myzithra” cheese, “skaltsounia”, “lychnarakia”, “bougatsa”). Sweets feature semolina pudding (halva with honey and cinnamon), “loukoumades” (dumplings) and “tiganites” (fritters) with honey, traditional “ksirotigana” with honey, various creams and “ryzogalo” (rice pudding). Beverages include herbal teas like sage, chamomile, “malotira”, “dictamo”) as well as traditional “soumada” (bitter almond) and Greek coffee.
