The Matilda hotel is situated in the most beautiful area of Zakynthos, Vasiliko, the habitat of Caretta-Caretta sea turtle. It is amphitheatrically built and overlooks the picturesque beach of Porto Zoro. The rooms of Matilda are minimally decorated offering a breathtaking view of the verdant nature of Zakynthos and the blue sea. Apart from two bars (indoor and outdoor), the hotel has a lounge, two swimming pools, a playground and a restaurant.
The breakfast buffet at the Matilda hotel includes a wide selection of traditional delicacies such as “dakos” rusk with feta cheese, olive oil and oregano. There are three types of traditional homemade jams, honey from Zakynthos and handmade cake. Guests will also find a selection of tea, coffees, hot and cold milk, yoghurt, “kasseri” cheese, cold cuts and butter. The sliced tomatoes, zucchini and onions are worth trying. Olives, omelettes, mushrooms and sausage, as well as traditional pies, such as cheese pie, pie with ham and cheese, and milk pie, are also offered. There is melon and water melon, sweet “ryzogalo” (rice pudding), walnut pie and traditional “galaktoboureko” for the perfect ending to a real Greek breakfast.
