Our hotel offers Special a rich breakfast buffet, where the traditional “Cretan breakfast” owns a special place! Our breakfast includes a variety of products of the Greek and particularly the Cretan cuisine, such as sweet Cretan cheese, cream cheese, xynochontro, Greek yogurt and milk, jams and homemade sweets, walnuts, traditional sour milk, Cretan gruyere cheese, feta,  olives, olive oil and honey from local producers, pies etc.

During the breakfast time, a show cooking is available while cooking lessons take place every Thursday.

Breakfast is considered to be the main meal of holiday and the most important source of energy for an active day. The inexhaustible gastronomic wealth of our country – with all the simplicity and purity of local products – is expressed in the most delicious way through a genuine breakfast.

Breakfast at our hotel is articulated rich and versatile. Raw materials selected by local producers, quality products and high nutritional value, traditional local delicacies make up the gastronomic culture and special character of Greece, especially of Crete.

Breakfast at the Village Heights offers variety and quality of ingredients. Emphasis has been given to genuine Cretan specialities so that guests can become acquainted with the delicious Cretan cuisine. There is local gruyere, “anthotyros” and “myzithra” cheeses, “tsakistes” olives, yoghurt with walnuts and honey, local jams, spoon sweets, barley rusks (“dakos”), buns made with oil and sesame, “moustokouloura” (cookies made with grape must), pies like “lychnarakia”, “myzithropites” (with myzithra cheese), “chortopites” (with wild greens), and the traditional sfouggato omelet with zucchinis. Desserts include “kserotigana” (fritters with honey), “loukoumades” (honey dumplings”, “tiganites” (pancakes), paired with various herbal teas from the local mountains.

The hotel has introduced a series of products that are part of the Traditional Cretan Breakfast.
Guests will find barley buns, barley bites, oil buns and sweet rusks, paired with beverages like “malotyra”, “diktamo”, fresh orange juice and fresh fruits. There are cucumber and tomato salads with onion, various olives and olive oil varieties. Guests may try handmade jams and dried fruits. Specials include the “ryzogalo” or “galoryzo” (rice pudding), the vanilla cream, the “manouri” cheese and “tiganites” (pancakes with honey).

The Sentido Vasia Resort & Spa serves a variety of Cretan delicacies for breakfast. The buffet
has fresh bread, delicious cakes, freshly baked bakery products (with cheese, raisins, chocolate etc), honey, jams, yoghurt, fresh butter, olives and a selection of Greek cheeses. The “Cretan corner” offers traditional spoon sweets, locally produced Cretan olive oil and aromatic herbs and spices. Cheeses include gruyere, “manouri” and feta, all paired with tomatoes and cucumber, black and green olives, pickles and sliced lemon. Hot dishes feature eggs and various omelettes (with mushrooms, cheese, smoked “apaki” pork etc), saut?ed cherry tomatoes with spices, potatoes with grated “anthotyro” cheese and village style sausages. The “loukoumades” (honey dumplings), the cream-filled “bougatsa” pie, the pies with mushrooms, ham, or greens and the “ryzogalo” (rice pudding) are really worth tasting. Drinks and beverages feature natural orange juice, Greek coffee, various teas and herbal beverages like the “alisfakia”. Breakfast is complete with a selection of nutritious dried fruits and nuts.

The a la carte breakfast at the Serenissima Hotel offers a variety of traditional Cretan dishes. The philosophy of the hotel is to familiarize Greek and foreign guests with a wide range of traditional dishes and local products by offering them a comprehensive, balanced breakfast prepared with top quality ingredients. The Cretan selections include “bougatsa” pie of Chania, “kaltsounia” pie of Sfakia, “dakos” rusks, and fennel pie. The eggs dishes include “strapatsada” (scrambled eggs and tomato), eggs with “staka” (butter), eggs with Cretan sausages and many more. As for desserts there are “tiganites” (pancakes), “tsoureki” (sweet bread with “anthotyro” cheese and cherries,) orange pie and home made biscuits. Finally, the healthy selections include fruit salad with fresh fruits, yoghurt with honey and cereals. There are also jams, made with fresh fruits, and a list of beverages including Cretan herbal teas such as “malotira”, freshly squeezed juices and a wide selection of coffees.

The breakfast buffet has a dedicated corner for the promotion of Greek delicacies and local Cretan products. There are wheat and rye rusks with tomato and olive oil, various jams, cheeses like gruyere, sweet “myzithra” and “ksinomyzithra”, various olives, pies with wild greens, pies of Sfakia, “sarikopitakia” pies, “kserotigana” (fritters), halva, spoon sweets, “tsoureki” (sweet bread), mini rusks with olive oil, and “ksinochondros” (traditional pasta). The Cretan “sfouggato” (omelet with zucchinis) is flavored with fresh oregano and is paired with cabbage pies, or “nerati” with “ksinomyzithra” cheese. Traditional sweet delicacies (pies with “myzithra” cheese, “anevata kaltsounia” or “”lychnarakia”) are offered, next to beverages like mountain tea, “diktamo” and sage.

The Greek breakfast at the CHC Seaside Resort & Spa offers dishes with local ingredients, based on traditional recipes. The tour to the Greek – Cretan breakfast starts with the unique Greek bananas of Arvi, water melons and local grapes. Guests have a choice of cheeses, such as “myzithra”, “kefalograviera” and “”anthotyro”. The local “sfouggato” omelet with zucchinis is a recommended specialty, baked in a traditional oven. As for dessert, guests may choose among local sweets such as “lychnarakia”, “kaltsounia”, “diples” and pies of Sfakia.

Breakfast at the Sensimar Kalliston Resort & Spa serves many Greek dishes in the cold or hot buffet. The hotel has created a special corner where Greek delicacies -and particularly local Cretan products- are shown. The “Cretan Corner” includes barley rusks with oil and tomato, olives, local cheeses (gruyere, dry “anthotyro,”) traditional sweet delicacies (pies with “myzithra” cheese or “lychnarakia”), and “kaltsounia” with fennel. Among the guests’ choices are also jams, Greek yoghurt, sweet “myzithra” and “ksinomyzithra” cheese, “kserotigana” (fritters), spoon sweets, oil rusks, whole wheat breadsticks with sunflower seeds and sesame.

The rich breakfast buffet at the main restaurant offers breathtaking views of the bay of Mirabello and the picturesque port of Aghios Nikolaos. Guests may try, among other things, selected Greek products that are renowned for their quality and flavor, such as Greek honey, fresh salads, or traditional Cretan “dakos” rusks, fresh bread, biscuits, local rusks and bread sticks. Guests will also find Cretan gruyere and other cheeses, “strapatsada” (scrambled eggs with tomatoes), various omelettes, Greek cold cuts and cheeses, olives, local yoghurt and halva, as well as various jams. As for pies, there is apple pie and other kinds that alternate daily, like cheese pie, spinach pie, pie with wild greens and milk pie. Guests will accompany their breakfast with Greek coffee, tea or even fresh orange juice.

Breakfast at the hotel is mostly based on local Greek and Cretan products. It starts with fresh traditional barley bread, baked in a traditional oven, Cretan rusk, bread sticks with sesame, biscuits, and buns with grape must and cinnamon (“moustokouloura”.) There is fresh juice from local oranges, apricot and quince marmalades (local products) and Cretan thyme honey. Guests may try the traditional “sfouggato” omelet (with zucchini, cheese, tomato, olive oil), or omelet with “apaki” (smoked pork). Alternatively they may try boiled or fried local organic eggs, paired with “dakos” rusk, (with olives and olive oil, Cretan gruyere and feta or “anthotyros” cheese), or yoghurt. The cheese pies with local cheese fillings and “myzithra”, the “kalitsounia” (with greens or “myzithra”), the “lychnarakia” (with sweet cheese and cinnamon), are all based on authentic recipes. Other sweet treats include the traditional “ksirotigana” (fritters with honey), the “bougatsa” pie (with savory cheese or with sweet cream and cinnamon), the “moustalevria” pudding made with grape must, or the “ryzogalo” with fresh milk. The perfect ending to a rich breakfast is the combination of traditionally brewed Greek coffee and fresh, hot “loukoumades”, (dumplings with honey and sesame.)

The breakfast buffet at the Sensimar Royal Blue Resort & Spa offers a large number of traditional delicacies like the “sarikopita” pie. This is a local product from Chania, usually offered in traditional weddings. Its main ingredients are flour, water, salt and “ksynomyzithra” cheese. Another specialty breakfast dish is the Cretan “sfouggato”, a traditional Cretan omelet with eggs, zucchinis, tomatoes, peppers etc. Guests will also find herbal beverages such as “diktamo” and sage, olives and olive oil from a producer from Crete, “anthogalo”, a Cretan creamy cheese rich in fat and slightly sour, and “myzithra”, a soft cheese rich in fat with which the sweet pies “myzithropitakia” are made.
