The Petani Bay is an adults only hotel built in the middle of the unique bay of Petani in Lixouri, on the island of Cephalonia. The bay is famous for its sunsets, crystal clear waters and the imposing rocks that surround it. The hotel consists of 13 suites, all of which offer breathtaking views. The large swimming pool offers stunning views of the bay and a wooden deck that completes the magnificent setting.
The breakfast buffet at the Petani Bay Hotel features fresh products based on traditional Greek flavours. There are fresh fruits or fruit salads, paired with local yoghurt. The selection of fresh breads is accompanied by honey, jams and homemade spoon sweets like the special sweet cherry. The cheese pies with handmade phyllo, the oil cookies and the “moustokouloura” (grape must cookies) are based on grandma’s old recipe. The dessert of the day includes tahini halva, syrupy “kadaifi”, baklava, or “loukoumades” (honey dumplings), apple pie, lemon pie, yoghurt pie etc. The fresh eggs are cooked to order. There is freshly cut salad, tomatoes, cucumber, olives etc as well as a variety of hard and soft local cheeses, with the local feta being the star. Fresh orange juice is made on the spot and guests may try the dairy creams, the “ryzogalo” (rice pudding) or mastic flavored panacotta. The savory or sweet crepes are also very popular. Beverages include mountain tea and chamomile tea that the owners pick during the winter.
