Archontiko Naoumidi

The Archontiko Naoumidis, in Portaria, is a rare example of the 19th century aristocratic architecture that is typical of Pelion. The hotel features eight rooms, all characterized by a romantic style. Four more spacious rooms have a fireplace and a Jacuzzi, and there is also a junior suite, as well as two deluxe suites with direct access to the outdoor swimming pool and the Jacuzzi. The breakfast buffet serves many Greek and local delicacies, starting with fresh white and multigrain bread, bread sticks, buns and “tsoureki” (sweet bread) as well as fresh fruits, fruit salads and traditionally made fruit compotes. Guests will also find three kinds of jams and two kinds of honey from local producers. The breakfast buffet includes yoghurt and other dairy produce such as fresh milk, fresh butter and five kinds of cheese (feta, “anthotyro”, “kasseri” from Volos, gruyere from Mytilene etc.) with local olives. As for herbal beverages, there is tea, mountain tea, chamomile and linden. Guests should try the compote with apples from Pelion and boiled chestnuts. There is butter and boiled or fried eggs, as well as omelet. The pies are made in the guesthouse (milk pie, pie with greens, cheese pie, zucchini pie and “bougatsa”. Daily delicacies are “loukoumades” (honey dumplings), fresh cakes and various sweets with jam such as “pasta flora” jam tart.
